WHEN DID YOU START COACHING HOCKEY?

On and off at about 24 but continually since I was about 30.

BEST HOCKEY MEMORIES?

Under 12s beating Whitley 6-1 at Whitley to win the League about 6 years ago, even though our top scorer wasn't playing and our goalie wasn't up to much. Pete Traynor scored 5 goals and an assist and our goalie had a stomper.

WORST HOCKEY MEMORIES:

Having a car crash in Toronto last winter and being banned for a complete load of nonsense last season. Also an injury I got up at Fife that still gives me problems.

BIGGEST INFLUENCE WITHIN ICE HOCKEY:

The players that I coach (all ages) and as a player a number of people - Alan Potts, Matt Weeden, Jeff Epps, Greg Biskup, Fred Perlini for lots of different reasons and there are others. You have to take a little bit of everything and apply it as you see fit or in your situation.

PEOPLE YOU ADMIRE WITHIN ICE HOCKEY?

Simon Mills, Greg Allen, and every player I have ever coached who is still in the game and have the honesty to say I 'm a decent coach.

HOW DID YOU GET YOUR NICKNAME?

Super at football.

DREAM HOCKEY LINE (BRITS):

Fats (Danny Higgin), Millsy, Jason, Greg, Me, Alan Hough.

DREAM LINE (FOREIGNERS):

Jeff Johnson, Jeff Epps, Greg Biskup, Matt Weeden, Fred Perlini, Alan Potts.

THOUGHTS ON BRITISH HOCKEY:

Without the rinks, we are never going to be up there and the decent kids we do have need to play quality and quantity games.

ADVICE FOR YOUNG PLAYERS:

Listen to your coach, be dedicated whatever sport you choose, never ever give up and always, always do it because you want to.
